In Naval Action there are two types of monetary currency (reals, doubloons) and two types of meta currency (combat medals, victory marks). The monetary currencies can be traded among players.

Monetary Currencies

Reals

Reals are tradeable, non-transportable silver coins required for

  • buying items in the shop,
  • placing contracts in the shop, and
  • extracting resources from buildings.

Reals can be obtained by

  • selling goods,
  • selling ships,
  • receiving compensation for a lost ship,
  • receiving as a reward for sinking an enemy ship, and
  • receiving as a reward for completing delivery mission.

Doubloons

A maximum 10,000 doubloons can be stored in the player's money chest. Otherwise doubloons can be stored in ships' holds or warehouses. Unlike reals, doubloons can be looted from a ship's hold.

Victory marks are non-tradeable, transportable medals required for
