Port Upgrades

Capturable ports can be upgraded in several ways by members of the owners Nation.

  • Defence
  • Investments
  • Shipbuilding

Every upgrade costs a specific amount of port upgrade points of which each port has a finite amount. Ports can have 15, 25, 35, 45 or - in case of a few select County Capitals - 55 upgrade points.
The creator and any diplomat of the clan that owns the port can decide whether the ability to invest in and use upgrades is limited to the owner clan only or open to every clan on their friendlist. The exception being defence buildings, which - once built - are present in any combat instance close to the port.

Defence

Port owners can now decide whether they want Forts and Towers around their ports. Once built these will be visible in Open World and present in both Open World Combat instances and Port Battles. Every port can receive two towers and up to two forts.
The table below shows the resource requirements for a single fortification of each type.

Investments

In addition to naturally occuring resources any crafting resource can be made available, provided the port has the required amount of upgrade points available.

Shipbuilding

The Shipbuilding investments encompass 5 types of upgrades. Every ship built in that port will benefit from the currently unlocked upgrades.

  • Gunnery
  • Sailing
  • Hull
  • Mast and Rig
  • Crew

Each of these investments can be upgraded up to 4 times for a rising cost of port upgrade points starting at 1 point for level one and going 2, 4 and finally 8 for level 4.
